50th birthday man card

Hi my crafty friends thank you for stopping by my blog
if you would like to leave me a comment i do appreciate them :0))

A 50th birthday card for our friend
i started with a white base card which i embossed with
C E by SUE WILSON KNOTTED TRELLIS E.FOLDER
I then cut SUE WILSON NEW YORK COLLECTION TIME SQUARE
out of dark roast coffee foundation card for  the largest piece
then i cut the fancy piece out of chestnut foundation card.
then the middle square from the dark roast card. Then lastly the fancy middle out of chestnut card.
I layered all together with a no 50 peel off on top.
I then done a white matt, then chestnut matt, & last the dark roast coffee card.
I embossed them all with the same embossing folder.
I stamped the happy birthday & cut a matt of the light & dark card & shadowed them by cutting each piece in half & gluing together.I tied some white & black tulle together & put the happy birthday on the top.Added flat back bead on each corner & on the sentiment.

The middle i printed a verse from my computer cut it out with the TIME SQUARE DIE.
Then matted it with the light & dark card. tied another  white & black tulle added a brown embellishment.

Man cards are not my favorite cards to make
I wanted to put flowers & butterfly's on it ha ha.

thank you for looking in Hugs to you all Lynda.

  1. Oh Lynda so very rich and opulent looking a really beautiful card, love it and the way you have carried your design through to the insert is wonderful. I know just what you mean when you say a male card is not your favourite card to make but you have done really well this time. You have shown just how versatile Sue Wilson's dies really are the way you have designed this card, well done I love it.

  2. Hi Lynda,
Oh such a wonderful card for a man. I really dread it when a man's birthday comes up in the family even hubby's. But I love what you have done with Sue's dies....her new collection is absolutely gorgeous....I haven't got the New York ones yet as I plumped for the Stocholm collection first, also the little floers and thone of the Gemini collection. The New York collection is a definite must in the New Year.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful man card with us.
    Take care.

  9. Lynda it's just me again. If you look back on my blog to May you will see a stand with my gift bags, granted they don't have the STRIPLET dies on them but just to say the striplet fits down the middle just perfectly. The bag die is an X Cut A 4 die cut using 300gms plus card, anything else doesn't work. Hazel x

  10. Thank you Lynda, I love making up my gift cakes baskets. Oh if only we had a big house. The annexe at work which houses my bosses office, guest room huge living room, kitchen and shower room is nearly as big as our little cottage. I wouldn't want the up keep of it all, it takes a housekeeper, gardener and a groom plus myself. But it is a home and that's importan. Hazel x

  12. Hi Lynda,
It's taken me nearly a week to get here but I finally made it! It's so busy this time of year and dressing trees etc makes such a mess with boxes everywhere. Can just about see the light of day!
I think your male card is really lovely. I too find them very difficult but using the colours you have is just right. The New York collection is lovely - I bought the Union Square. So versatile. The gemini Lyra which Sue used today is gorgeous! Myra may have to have Lyra! Lol!
I love the inside of your card too - really elegant.
Hope your Christmas preparations are going well
    Love Myra xx

  13. Hi Lynda,
I left a comment and it went AWOL ! It's taken me nearly a week but Ive finally got here. Everyone is so busy at this time of year. I've just been surrounded by boxes as been putting up trees etc! I love Christmas though.
I think your male card is really lovely. You have chosen such lovely colours - reminded me of a gentleman's club! Don't know why - never been in one - but you know what I mean. It just looks so smart and the inside is gorgeous too. I'm enjoying using the square dies as didn't have one before. I've got Union Square. They are so versatile as you say.
I had the Lyra delivered but it's not for me - but I'm thinking Myra needs the Lyra Lol!
Hope your Christmas preparations are going well. I need to sit down and make a list and think tonight! So if you hear a funny noise - you'll know what it is!
    I'd better go.
Love Myra xx. Thanks for sharing your lovely cards.
