My Son's 38th birthday card

Hello i haven't posted for a while we have been having a lot of internet problems,so hopefully
i will finish this post before i loose it all. Any way i hope you are all ok & thank you for popping in.
I hate doing man cards but i was quite pleased with this one for my son.

I started by cutting THE CANADIAN COLLECTION BACKGROUND Designed by Sue Wilson.
( I had this from my friend for my birthday i love it.)
i used soft gold card & left the middle section out of the die, then cut a piece of black card a little larger,& cut the middle section out also& glued together & put mountain foam on he back
I then i cut the middle die section again from the gold card & backed it with black card glued it onto base card & then took the backing off the mountain foam, put it over the top so it was recessed in middle. Then matted another piece of gold card then a wide black Matt then onto my 8 x 8 base card.
I printed a happy birthday cut it out with Sue's pieced flag Die & matted it onto a black flag.I made a classic foldover flower from the FINISHING TOUCHES RANGE BY Sue Wilson.
from parchment paper.
I followed the theme though to the middle.

I hope that all makes sense,& thank you again for stopping by.So what do you think
I would love you to leave a comment Hug's Lynda xx

  4. Hi Lynda,
Darren will love this card! You have made a fabulous job and I know you are good at putting a card together when needed asap. Love the soft gold card, I need something like that for my x-mas cards or the golden one John is
using . They both very nice. Love you little flower and amazed as it made from parchment paper.
Sorry to see Annie needed another injection,
she is getting old the sweet girl .Hope she is feeling better after this one and you, you must take care. I hope you are feeling better tomorrow, did you catch it ? I just sent you a gentle hug but they do squeeze something rotten sometimes.
I had a good day with Julia, I know some don't like her but she is good fun at the workshop here . We did 3 cards as last time but the time ran out and Rick was waiting to pick me up so had to leave, nearly 30min late ooops. Had to finish them at home and ok with 2 but stuck a bit how I want to finish the last one. Knowing me it will be just cut up and put together the easiest way hey. Will try to post them to Sandra so you all can have a lookie.
You take care now ,no more headbanging with whoever you are doing it with, promise.
Love to you and the clan from a pumpkin,it just gone midnight! hugs Maria xxx

  5. Hi Lynda,
Oh what a great idea for a man card, I hate doing them because I just love adding pretty things to a card but adding SW's Folding flower to your card is ideal because it could be taken for a rossette. It's perfect. Do hope your internet problems are sold and I hope Annie is getting better. I hope to get to the post office in the next day or so to post your package...please forgive me for taking such a long time with it.
    Love and hugs

  6. Hi Lynda
Sorry to be late with my note for you but Daren's card is wonderful I love it, and if he doesn't tell him from me to go to Spec Savers! I am sure he will be thrilled with it and this design could be used for all kinds of occasions too, oh you are clever.
If you are still having problems with your internet have you tried telling them you want a rebate for lack of service?
Sorry that Annie has not been well I do hope she is now improving bless her.
I hope you are now fully recovered and feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed once more, have a lovely weekend.
    With love

  7. Hello Lynda,
I Came Across Your Blog Once Again, I Was Blown Away By Your Superb Card.
Your Friend Was Extremely Kind Getting This Fabulous "Canadian Background" For Your Birthday.
It's Can Be Used For Ladies Or Men As You've Done Here.
I Love The Fantastic Colour Palette You've Chosen "The Soft Gold And The Black" Great Combination! Also Using Sue's Great Flag Die I Was Thrilled When Sue Brought This Out As I Could Never Manage Get It Correct By Hand One Point Would End Up Longer Than The Other And So On Lol!
You've Also Added A Foldover Flower From The Finishing Touch Range, I Was Pleased To See That You Make Your Card Inside Look As Good As The Front I Think This Is So Important, I Also Had A Stamp Made From "Staples" For The Reverse Of My Card Its Got Handmade By Sam And A Tiny Pair Of Scissors,
    (Not Too Expensive £12:99)
In The Centre Of The Back Of The Card I Usually Stamp Something Also, That Coordinates With The Front As I'm Mainly A Stamper I Just Use Sue's Dies In Conjunction With My Stamping.
Once Again A Really Magnificent Card Thanks For Sharing.
    Take Care Lynda
    Hugs From
