Harry's Christening card

Hello & a warm welcome too all that visit my blog, i really appreciate you popping in.If you can leave me a comment i would be so grateful thank you very much.

This post is for Harry's Christening invitation's.I thought i would show how they have turned out
being they have been changed quite a few times.Firstly Sam sent me a picture of the sort of card she liked so off i go & did a near copy of it & her saying yes she liked it, think i made about 10,then got text asking if i could incorporate 1st birthday & Christening with  HARRY JAMES as well.
So tried sent picture again, but could she make sure it was what they wanted as i would have to start again So she text came back, & said as i have to start from scratch again, could she change it to just a non card just a 6 x 4 with Harry's picture on the front & the wording on the back.
So this is the end result Sam said she loved it & i said Thank God for that.
She wanted 30 so i needed 60 frame's. still got 20 to do.

Thank you all for taking the time  & looking at my blog.

  1. Hi Lynda,
Your Invitations are really lovey. Simple and elegant but a lot of work has gone into them! No wonder your back hurts. They look so professional , Lynda, you should be very proud of them. I would! What a gorgeous photo as well.
Hope you feel a lot better very soon.
    Lots of love, Myra xxx

  2. Hi Myra
thank you so much for your kind words, yes i was quit pleased in the end as you say simple but lot's of cutting out,& i had to write every line separate as my card program would't let me line them all how mum wanted it,but once it was done i could save it.
The cards i did first were more elaborate but hay ho this is what mum wanted.
Hope your migraine has gone now.

  3. Lynda. I can see why your back is so sore, just standing cutting all the frames? If you are like me it's that tension of getting everything just so. Alice was a bit like Sam. She liked what I had thought what she wanted, said yes then it was " oh I don't want flowers or filly bits, changed it no that wasn't right, could I do something horsey?? So in the end I cut out loads of different bits, including the horse head and shoe, told her to come and play and design her invites, thankfully what she decided seems to have worked. Now she has given me the insert to say what time etc, but not the menu that she wants on one side. I think she doesn't know how much work it all takes. Harry's invites are gorgeous, he is a cute little guy. Take it easy, your back won't get better if you keep standing cutting and putting everything together. Hazel x

    1. Thank you Hazel your very kind. The trouble Is i don't think Sam know's how much work & time it takes when making a card but I did get a little cross with her in the end as you say,I was using all my posh card it's not easy changing things & adding things as well when it was only a small card it started looking too crowded I didn't like it.Never mind we got it right in the end.

  4. Wow Lynda, I love what you have created there, so personal too, hopefully Sam was pleased with this one! You must have got quite frustrated,
I would have done at the wasted time and card !
I am so sorry to hear you are struggling with your back, try to take it easy for a few days, maybe it's leaning forward doing your cards, I know that kills my back!
    Take care my friend,

    1. Hello my lovely friend,
Thank you Sandra we did get there in the end but I did get a bit cross with Sam after she kept changing her mind after she was telling me what she wanted but it was getting a bit silly she kept adding thing but when it's just a small card it looked messy. So I think this one is better.
Sandra where did you get your tamping up two step stamp set from I like the bigger flower like Patricia's I have looked on a few sites but no luck I'm still waiting for mine from Sunrise craft it was on a7- 14 day order but seems ages.they only had the one set no choice.yet you tube has lots of tutorials on them.

  10. Hello Lynda,
Where have I been, I knew I should have been looking at someone else's blog, but couldn't remember who. Now I know -sorry.
This is beautiful, you must be so pleased with yourself. Pleased that the design was finally decided as well!
My niece kept changing her mind, so I started using my old card and when she finally decided on the one she wanted, I did one in the nice stuff before I got the go-ahead.
Hope your back improves, it's a long, slow job.

P.S. Harry has those gorgeous arms and legs that look like they've got a rubber band on them. Eleanor was the same, there's not a picking on her now! x

    1. Hello Margaret thank you for popping in so lovely too see you & thank you for your lovely comments. I must say I was pleased when I had finished them. posted them all too Sam this morning. Darren phoned me tonight & thanked me & said they were amazing so hope he still thinks so when they arrive tomorrow. Lol The trouble is i don't think Sam or anyone realise how long they take to make & with all the ones I did that were wasted & my posh card as well .Darren did say he would pay me for making them, but I wouldn't dream of charging them.

  14. Oh thank you Sheila for your lovely comments,I got there in the end after Harry's mum kept changing her mind & I was pleased with the end result.Yesterday though Darren phoned me & said muum can you make us another 20 please
So I cut another 40 frames & 20 each of pictures & words now I just have to stick them all together. Good old Mum.
Sheila I hope you are feeling a bit more positive & able too tell the so called friends where to go,I hate people like them they don't deserve to be called friend they are just greedy & too see what they can take for themselves. They haven't given a thought for you & how you feel.
I wish we were nearer as Terry would have gladly helped you sort the garage things out without payment even fixed your fence & could have had a garage sale & sold things at reasonable prices. I just feel so helpless so far away from you it must be so hard for you.your always in my thoughts. Sending loving ((((Hug's))) my dear friend please take care Hug's for Nikki as well.

    1. Oh bless you Lynda and Terry too. Thankfully they finished the fence so I've paid them off. The garden needs some work done to it not sure what as it is so large and is at the side and front of the bungalow but have decided not to worry about it for a while. The so-called friend of Clive's mentioned the garage again befor he left but I told him that I'm leaving it for a while as every thing is happening so quick that I don't feel I have had time to grieve properly. Nikki is fine thank you so much for keeping her in your thoughts too Lynda.....I forgot to ring her on Wednesday and it was 9pm before I realised and too late to call the house then. It's the first time I or we had ever forgotten. They rung on Thursday and I asked why they didn't ring me the night before as Nikki was upset....after all she does pay her share of the phone bill. Don't get me wrong they look after her so well and she is happy but honestly it was just a simple thing to do. Sorry for waffling.
Love and hugs my dear friend
